Headed home

We stopped for lunch in Huntsville, after driving past the statue of Sam Houston.

Saturday morning

It ended up being pretty chilly yesterday; today is the first day it's been warm enough to leave the door open, and we're leaving in 2 hours. Galveston forecast for next week calls for very nice weather.

The kids locked themselves out of their room. Daniel -- or, as he is known to French police, "Le Chat", the cat burglar -- easily gained access via the open balcony door.

After being rudely awakened last night by a complex-wide fire alarm (LOUD!!), we awoke to another sunny day. Breakfast was pancakes, hotcakes, flapjacks, and bacon.

(Hadley had pancakes with butter and peanut butter. I tried one with peanut butter. Not bad).

Sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, green beans, cornbread dressing, Mac and cheese, turkey, gravy. All excellent.
